Re: peppers/what's everyone ordering?


Try some of the smaller bells - the big ones do take longer and unless
you have a REALLY long season like we do, it probably would be a
problem.

I like the Buran, Healthy and Jimmy Nardellos for quick turn around.
They're all sweet red peppers, but the Jimmy Nardellos are long and
skinny like hot peppers. The Buran peppers are very sweet even when
green - they're a Polish heirloom variety. These are all smaller peppers
and produce quick prolifically and are not huge plants. You can do them
in big containers if you're short of room. I get mine from SSE, don't
know if anyone else carries them or not. www.seedsavers.org. You have to
order plants in increments of 6, but that's just two of each, so no big
deal. And at 2.50 a piece, it won't break your budget eitehr.
