Have three, one planted directly in "the swamp", the other two nearby, but out of the worst of the wet. The one in the swamp is definitely the happiest. Perhaps, though it is more a function of organic matter than moisture.

We have several Bald Cypress on the IPFW campus. During our MG class tour

require lots of moisture, but they can survive it. Several had been planted

health between locations. Nice trees. I also like Larches.

The first year I had mine, neighbors told me the tree was dead... triedin
to explain it was supposed to turn colors and loose needles....
We have two, one in the rear area of my waterfall and another int he middle of my mothers pond in a pot. (which has been there for 4 years)

Zen, you must have been a busy gardener! Is a sycamore a desirable treebutyour area? I love the bald cypress but is uncommon here. It is hardyrarely seen in the nurseries. I wonder if this is due to the false idea it needs lots of moisture. Ceres
