Jim, I'll be in zone 8b, you're awesome.
Kitty, no the Josee won't work there so please send it to Rich. But thank you for trying.
Pam, I would LOVE to have an R. Mutablis. I couldn't take mine, and as you know, Damascena is buried under one.
Thanks everyone for their well wishes. I', SO very excited.
I will have a fence for the dogs, much bigger than the one they have now. I will be renting from close friends who are calling about the fence today. I'll be right downtown and can walk to all my favorite restaurants and shops. I'll see the marsh and the river everyday on my way to work, AND my old boss increased my salary by a little and is sending me money to help me move. How can I resist?
I AM digging up my Magnolia x 'Sunspire'-Wayside isn't carrying it anymore and I love it. It's only supposed to get 6 feet wide and has yellow blloms shot with pink. Plus I paid $50 for it. Just can't leave it behind.........

Amen to that. Andrea, you were zone 8b before as I recall.
I'm fixin' to start a bunch of (R. mutabilis) butterfly rose cuttings (also
taking a pot of them to Jesse next weekend) but you'll get first dibs on the
ones that root. They can hack the heat and humidity where most roses
can't. Don't feel bad. I wouldn't last a month north of the Red River.
Trust me.

Andrea, it's hard to change climates. I'm not sure how long I'd last in
the
South if I went more than one zone south. LOL!!!
We just want you to be happy where ever you want to be.
Blessings,

Just wanted to let you all know, I accepted my old job back in South
Carolina this morning.
I start work on March 6.
I had hoped that I would love it here in Illinois, but it's just not
happening. I can't take the winter, and everyone says this has been a mild
one. So, I'm headed back to Beaufort, pretentious though it is.
I miss the water, the live oaks, the camellias and azaleas, the
evergreens,
and even the alligators. I need sun and light and warm days and nights.
I'll be in a new house so I get to start a whole new garden.
Andrea
Petersburg, IL
soon to be Beaufort, SC
