Babies used to be smaller, but 7-8 lbs is average now. 5 lbs is now considered underweight. Amazing how things change.

A big boy for sure! I think he may be bigger than my grand-nephew. My nephew and his wife are expecting next month too, though earlier than your grandbaby. At 7 months the babe was already at 5 pounds. They're high risk and traveling 4 hours to the specialist every week now.
Am I mis-remembering? Weren't babies normally between 5 and 6 pounds 25 years ago?

Just monitoring so far. If he needs medication it will mean a hospital stay for my daughter. Things that would help his heart would be hard on hers. So, I'm happy he's doing OK so far. He's due end of March & is estimated 7 lb 6 oz already. Gonna be a big boy from day one. Thanks again for your concern & prayers. I say again, this is a great group of friends. Green grass on the hills here, no coat on my way home from work today. Bright sunshiney day. Looking forward to some garden time tomorrow. Narcissus are up about 6 inches. Hyacinths just poking their noses out of the ground. If it stays warm, the early viiolets may put in an appearance soon. ----- Original Message -----
