Surprise! You're dinner

"Lambs are awfully cute," And tasty too! Nothing better than a good spring rack of lamb.

Here's a question for all of you husbands out there...oh wait, I mean
those of you into animal husbandry: We got millions of sheep in this
country. Why the heck is lamb so expensive?

Lambs are awfully cute, good thing they turn into sheep or the freezer
would be empty. We do keep a couple lamb covers around for emergencies.
They are like little felt sweaters. This year we are unprepared, I
wasn't expecting any births for another week; we haven't cleaned out the
lambing pens or even done inventory on our box of supplies.
According to the forecast it's probably going to rain again tonight so
the other two ewes have a chance to pop 'em out during the wet. Based on
physical signs they are close, but according to the calendar they ought
to wait a couple weeks. Dumb sheep, can't read the calendar... :-)

you need to knit some lamb sweaters for your babies!!!! I saw a pattern
for one. Keeps 'em warm when mamma isn't around them. So cute. I love
the babies.....

Lambs are so cool. The best. Ans it's not a bad time for the ewes to
lamb. While sheep are not exactly smart, they will stay in the
barn/cote when it's cold--and the lambs will stay with them.
