Good to see some activity on the list.
Horses can become pals with goats, Kathy. The great race horse Kelso had a goat pal his whole life; slept in the stable with him, and when Kelso retired, went to pasture with him. Deer can likely master it, too.

Well...my critters are all surviving as best as they CAN, all things
considered. I finally let my chickens out on Friday and they looked dazed and confused by the bright sun and snow everywhere...they were very happy to be OUT. My deer has become a nuisance....he has decided he no longer wants to stay in his pen, but wants to wander all over the farm and eat my roses and shrubs. Nice. He needs a friend...so I may end up getting a big GOAT 
to put in there with him.
