Re: need a plant recomendation

I thought about Clematis, too, but wasn't sure what Theresa meant about a
light pole.  Light pole, as in 6 ft to hold a light in front of your house
or light pole, as in street light.

If it's the shorter one, then Clematis would be a good choice, especially
the way Donna described.  The Feb Fine Gardening mag has a short article on
Clematis for the Southwest, that will "grow even in Zones 10 and 11".   They
say "large flowered hybrids and species like Clematis viticella, and C.
texensis, don't need winter chill...can often bloom 3 times a year."  The
varieties the spotlight in the article for full sun are 'Lady Betty Balfour
and 'Ernest Markham'.  Tose they show for sun or shade are 'Victoria', C.
viticella 'Mme Julia Correvon, and C.v. 'Alba Luxurians'.
