Winter in Bethesda, Maryland, is why I got interested in hydroponics. For a couple of hundred bucks, you can have a neat indoor garden to putter in all winter.

The only thing that saves me is working in the greenhouse on weekends. Something refreshing about 80 degrees, smelling plants and running your fingers thru the soil.
