Re: Re: OT cats again ;-)

Not Kitty, but I get it from a local family-owned pet store. The same company make a dog food too. Here's the company's website: They have a store locator on the site.

I can't recall why the C/D formula was brought up in the first place,
but just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in on cat food, since I've tried
soooo many different ones. My vet actually recommended Felidea food for
my cat that is sick, as it has less processed junk in it and is easier
to digest. So, I did. All 3 cats really like it and seem very
healthy. My cat with the GI problem can eat it fine and it still with
us (which surprises everyone). They also now make Felidea Platinum for
senior or overweight cats. It's not cheap, but it also is no where near
as expensive at the prescription Science Diet foods.

Libby, any cat I ever tried to feed canned C/D formula to, slunk off and
moped for days on end. I hated facing that cold can after it had been in
the fridge, but dutifully warmed it in the microwave and then watched
the huge disappointment in their eyes when they saw it was the same
horrible stuff. Remembering the $, it was such a shame to throw so much
out. We did try the dry C/D which was accepted, though not
enthusiastically, for awhile. However, with multiple cats there is no
way I could segregate the one on C/D and make sure he got no other food.
And at that $, I couldn't feed C/D to everyone. ( I think I hear a
resounding whew! -or was it mew? - coming from the peanut gallery here)

The vet gave (sold) me 3 different foods to try. Darn cat won't eat
either of the canned ones (one of them is the C/D) - and she's hungry,
too. She'll eat the pouch one sometimes. Sounds like Sugar might have a
dry version of C/D? Cassie likes dry food, too, maybe I'll see of they
have that.

Libby - we have Sugar on the prescription C/D food from the vet and it's
worked wonders for her. Is that what you're trying now? Just remember it
is VERY rich so you'll have to cut down the amount you feed. My vet gave
me a little measuring cup to use when we put her on a diet a few years
back.
