Lowes

I stopped by the extn ofc today and partook of a discussion w/ Hort Ed and
an MG who works at a local Lowes. He said this past year at their one
location they threw out over $30,000 worth of plants, not allowed to give
them to organizations. Some pitched just because not up to par. They won't
let MGs have to sell, might consider giving if we plant on grounds. It just
seems such a shame. He said hundreds of Hosta, all kinds of nice prairie
plants. Hort Ed, asked why they don't give them to Habitat for Humanity
people - they could get good publicity out of that. Also said they threw
out a lot of mulch - end of season, wanted to clean things up. Into the
baler. Geez. Such waste.
