I don't have a blind animal, but a friend does. They do adapt apparently. Your dog has the advantage of knowing the home environment, and once it gets past the distress of not knowing what the heck is going on, it will start to use other means to orient. However, if her blindness is caused by something more seriously neurological- there are no guarantees. I'd wait it out though- animals are amazingly resilient. In the meantime, if the dog seems upset, you might consider trying Rescue Remedy to reduce the stress.

Does anyone have a dog or cat that is blind? Do they adapt?
It appears my dog went blind today. I took her to the vet, he gave me some
pills and drops - and her a couple shots.
I don't have my hopes up that this is going to work. Right now she is not
suffering per say, but she can't be disoriented forever. She does have a lot
of health issues, so thinking maybe this is the time.
Going to give it a couple days....then decide what to do.
