I kept my maiden name when I got married.  It hasn't been much of a hassle.
My son got my last name as a middle name and his dad's last name as is
traditional. The only place that gave me grief was the hospital where he was
born! My in-laws weren't too crazy about me keeping my maiden name, but my
husband had no qualms at all about it.
