The Farmer's Market is just a few blocks from La Brea Tar Pits Museum
(the Natural History Museum of CA). There are also a couple of museums
next door to it. Lot's to see in that location. Another note of
interest. Brea means tar. The name comes from Rancho La Brea, a land
grant given by Mexico when this area was still a part of it.

The folks in the gift shop mentioned it! The museum actually has more
"working" western heritage displays than entertainment, but we did like
the movie cowboy exhibitions. Especially the fancy saddles. They had
gallery exhibitions of native American basketry, photos of the Grand
Canyon (breathtaking), and then their permanent exhibitions of western
gear and art. I have meant to go there for years and finally got around
to it. Next year maybe I'll get to the LA Farmer's Market.

Curious Cyndi. Were the Autry museum folks all psyched up about his
forthcoming postage stamp?
