I like the other winners, too. I wish I could build a catio. Our guys
really liked the screened porch but they were hell on the screens even when
there were only 3 of them and now the strays/outside cats use it. I’m running
out of space. No, I have long since run out of space. As soon as I rehome
someone or one crosses the rainbow bridge, another few show up. There are now 9
in the main house, one recovering one that I brought indoors to get over a nasty
respiratory thing and who will probably become part of the indoor family and 4
regulars outside, one of whom still needs to be neutered and vaccinated. He’s
people and trap shy.
I don’t know why I never thought to photograph any of the cats drinking out
of the waterfall that goes into my little fish pond as in one of the other
pictures. Many of them enjoy the running water and some like to splash their
paws in it.
I missed a great chance last winter when it was frozen and Peanut, now an
inside kitty, was skating across the strange stuff. Neither her mother or sister
wanted any part of ice or indoors. They’re still outdoor cats. We’ll see
this year whether they like ice any better.
And to think I was strictly a dog person for almost 60 years...
