Aren't they cool? We see them regularly in our yard - they seem to love
the salvias and can always be found among the daylilies.

I was touring the Display Gardens last evening around 7:30 and a friend
pointed out something I'd never seen or even heard of before: a
hummingbird bee. Have you ever seen one? Sort of bigger than a bee,
smaller than a hummingbird. Wings and proboscis like a hummingbird, but
also a fine set of antennae. Body was brownish to charcoal, appeared
kind of furry maybe? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? It was
fascinating!
