Sorry, yep, meant that I did mean Bush, as you had suggested.
Referring to the elder Bush when he recently parachuted on his 80th birthday
strapped to a professional jumper.
When I did my few "jumps" we did not "jump". When the plane neared the
zone, you climbed out and held onto the wing with both hands and your left
foot was on some part of the plane and your right foot on nothing. You
waited in that position until the instructor tapped your leg, indicating the
plane had arrived at the right place. Then you let go while maintaining a
bit of an arc. It was exhilirating. Once your shoot opened, you looked for
the target and directed yourself there by means of toggles that controlled
the shute. But there was plenty of time to enjoy the quiet beauty way up
there in the sky. I've forgotten a lot of things from my youth, but that
feeling was supreme, sublime.
