We have an above ground pool but use a low maintenance no chlorine
system and have an automatic vacuum that cleans overnight once a week
just fine. The kids start using the pool sometime in early May and don't
quit until end of September or so...makes not having a/c much more
tolerable for them and has minimal costs associated with it. Since we
use an enzymatic system we only have to mess with it once every couple
of weeks or so. But the biggest payoff is that the kids and all their
friends hang out here, where I can keep on eye on them...

Amazes me how many people put in pools up in our area - so much
maintenance for maybe 2 - 3 months of use! And then they can't
figure
out why they can't recover their money when they sell their
home. At
least a pool could be used longer in
Florida.
Cathy
On Thursday, July 22, 2004, at 04:06 AM, james
