Wants very moist soil; takes part sun for me, but it's the retentive
soil that seems to be important. Also these plants don't like stuff
on their overwintering foliage rosettes. Mine get leaves and stuff
on theirs and the worst covered up ones do the poorest when uncovered
in spring.
They have a reputation for being a bit persnickety.
