Do you have a "swamp"? I have it in the wettest area of my yard, and
it
loves it! Do have some grassy weeds attempting to take over, though,
so
if I can't get them under control, the jury is still out.

Try Lobelia siphilitica - Great Blue Lobelia - self seeds all over
the
place and seems to be more reliable than L. cardinalis.
