I think that's right, Daryl. Seems to me, auto A/Cs no longer depend on belt-driven compressors that lug the engine down. All electric instead. One can sit in a parking lot with the engine and A/C running while the significant other does whatever significant others do for 30 minutes and the engine temperature doesn't get anywhere near red line but the cab stays cool.

As I said, I'm not used to a/c so didn't know where that point should be
to just keep the house ok all day. I will turn it off tonight until we
have another heatwave.


I don't use the ac in my car - gas is too high! When I went to the
country the other day, I had the windows down and elbows up so the air
could blow in the sleeves and cool my back as I leaned forward.
