Actually, Kitty, with modern cars, it costs more in gas to have the windows
open than having the AC running, due to the way the airflow over the body
is designed and the drag with windows open. Or so I'm told.

As I said, I'm not used to a/c so didn't know where that point should be to just keep the house ok all day. I will turn it off tonight until we have another heatwave. I don't use the ac in my car - gas is too high! When I went to the country the other day, I had the windows down and elbows up so the air could blow in the sleeves and cool my back as I leaned forward.
