Mmmm, yummy. I've never met a pastry I didn't like! Theresa Rich Apking wrote:Hi Theresa, In this case it is an "S", which stands for the Danish version
of Santa Claus, of course it's spelled differently, but still starts with S.
They were traditionally served to all just before Christmas. It is a dough
tube about 18" long shaped like an S filled with an almond/sugar paste (this
is greatly simplified, but that's how it tasted) and was really good. I'd
guess that your local Danish bakery could fix you up with a bunch. Try it,
you'll like it! Rich in Z-5 where it's supposed to rain tonight and
tomorrow morning. We'll see.

Hi Ceres, No, not a drop, however, 50% chance on Saturday. Just have to
keep our fingers crossed. Yesterday it was 105 here with lots of
humidity.Sure was uncomfortable outside. Was in your area last weekend at theKuhl'sin Norwalk. I helped Ed with his deck he's building and we went up toBooneto take the train ride. While there toured Mamie's birthplace and had a "letter" at a Danish bakery. Good Stuff. -----Original Message----- From: owner-gardenchat@hort.net [o*@hort.net]On Behalf Of Cersgarden@aol.com Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2006 9:22 AM To: gardenchat@hort.net Subject: Re: [CHAT] weather Finally this morning we have a bit of relief from the hi temps.Yesterday100 with heat index of 112 & the humidity was soaking to your hair roots.
I
did work out but did take some breaks. Friday temps predicted to be in
the80's. How wonderful.
My youngest granddaughter, Nadia, will be playing in the regional
softball tournaments tomorrow evening. They won the district tournament
Tues
evening. Thank goodness for the Fri cooler temps.
We do need some rain. Rich, are you getting the rain that Donna is
getting? That must be the rains that have been passing over the northern
part
of Iowa.
