Think I'd be tempted to dry and grind some of them. Ground pimento is the "solvent" or "carrier" for chili powder, which I've taken to making my own. Hope my seeds are as-advertised, also. We haven't had a good jalapeno plant for 2-3 years.

Hah! No, to be satisified I would have to slap them myself. Ah well, it's hardly the worst garden event that's ever happened to me, and I'vebeen at this for 25 years now and never had it happen before. I'm tryingto find a silver lining. If they really are pimentos I suppose I can make sweet pepper relish, it's a good relish, but geez I hate working with small fruit like that. I'm still going to see if I can find the receipts though. I hardly ever keep that stuff but I ordered online so maybe I kept the email acknowledgement. I hope YOUR seeds are what they're advertised to be!!! If you want, I'll drive down and slap them for you. On Jul 20, 2007, at 10:40 AM, Johnson Cyndi D Civ 95 CG/SCSRT wrote:I definitely do not have ancho peppers growing. I pulled one off last night. They look like they might be pimento peppers, maybe, based on the pictures I'm looking at on Tomato Grower's Supply Co website (which is where I ordered from this year). There's no heat to them at all and they are maybe ping-pong ball size, I don't think they'll get much bigger than that. This is so annoying. Now I have to search through my stuff to see if I still have the receipts and seed packet for what I actually bought and then go gripe to the company. I did notbuy pimento peppers, I don't want pimento peppers, and not only have Iwasted time and water on something I don't want, I don't have the chiles I was counting on to preserve for this winter. It's not like I can't just go to the grocery store, but still! The value of what I've wasted is far more than the value of the seed packet, but I bet I'm not going to get compensated for that.
