I was right, though I hadn't expected to be.
When I used Webmail I had to create an online account w Comcast including a
password. Apparently this altered the password in Outlook Express. I
plugged the webmail password into OE and it worked.
I used webmail years ago w Comcast and it didn't work that way, so I doubted
that was the problem. But it seemed more than just coincidence that OE's
pwd wouldn't work right after opening a webmail acct.
Back in business. Thanks for your help everyone!
