Yes, it's a new one from Darrell Probst at Garden Vision. The only picture I've found is in his print catalogue. He's well known for his Epimediums, but in recent years he has been dabbling with Coreopsis. Previously he wholesaled his breakthrough varieties, but this one he is introducing on his own.
This beautifully colored variant is an amazing breakthrough for large flowered Coreopsis. Flowers are especially large at up to 3" across, with flowering starting early and going the distance from June until frost. In the heat of summer the flowers may open almost solid white, but for most of the season, the flowers are white flushed with varying degrees/shades of red-violet. As nights get cooler in autumn, the eyes darken and more color suffuses toward the edges of the petals. Forms a mound 18-30" tall and 24-30" wide with a somewhat open habit. From the catalog:

wow - sounds pretty Kitty!! new cultivar of coreopsis? On 7/24/10, Kitty <kmrsy@comcast.net> wrote:You're a better man than I, Gene Bush.... Jumping! Would I had the energy. Actual is 93 degrees, with heat index, it's 100. I just came in fromlisting the plants in my little nursery. It's time to start making sale tags for them for my sale next month. Found a cartful that need to be moved up a pot size. No fall orders for me Pam. I way-over-bought this spring, ending up now with one vauable Coreopsis 'Cosmic Evolution' that's still in its pot because I don't have a good spot for it yet. She's a happy plant but notcolorful like the pictures right now. In extreme heat she comes out white;cooler weather the 3in flowers are flushed red-violet. Hope to hey you are right about the heat easing in this lifetime, PamI am jumping about in my garden. Weeding a bit here, doing a small planting there. Perhaps getting rid of a plant and replacing it withsomething I like better. Improving the soil before something new goes in.Near my rock garden I moved my birdbath and set it on a circle ofstones. Next to it a flat stone with a bronze sundial down on the soil. Itoweave some small asters in between the stones of the rock garden, the birdbath and sun dial. It is a flat creeper with starry white blooms named SnowFlurries. This week I also intend to work on my tall screen of perennialsin a raised arch along a path that I mentioned before. Only working a couple of hours or so a morning, not much gets done. this coming week is to be more of the same...sigh. Gene E.
