Will put "October" on my calendar! Have been 'playing' with a number of varieties recently, and would love to give a north western hemisphere specimen a try.

i think learning orchid species may be a life-long undertaking, cathy, although someone on an orchid list or a florida native plants list could likely identify it. but, how about if the next time i gouge babies off the mother oak, i send you one and you can try to grow it indoors? most orchids are easily tamed to be house plants. but since i just removed most of the small bulblets, i probably will not assault the oak tree again before winter. so, if you want one, remind me in, say, october.
