RE: habitat and ponds
Mine are a good size now, so they eat everything! Marginal plants are
getting scarce, dig up the lilies all the time. Also like watermelon,
oranges, peas, strawberries.. well, just about anything. In the spring I
have thousands of tadpoles... and you can see the koi sucking them up
like a vacuum cleaner. I think once they get bigger, they don't. Just
when they are babies.
I bought them as 2-3" babies... now 3-4ft. They were raised on cheerios,
guessing there is something to the commercials....
