Re: My life has turned into the movie

Considering that dachshunds were bred to chase badgers into their lairs and eliminate them, what's a rat or two...
But I am curious, what does a dachshund/German shepherd mix look like?
Jason, my indoor/outdoor cat with no front claws, has proudly brought me snakes and voles (he eats the mice) and recently ran a raccoon off the deck (I was standing by in case the raccoon got aggressive.

Andrea, Bill and I had a dachshund/German shepherd mix (no, I don't know how
that happened) that one morning (4:00 a.m. or so) presented me with a juicy
dead rat at the back door! Mice I'd dealt with, but this was the first rat.
I woke the neighborhood as well as Bill, who was smart enough to praise the
dog. I never saw another rat around the property as long as the dog lived.
(I think he knew it was good to catch them, but not drop them on my foot
again. LOL!!!)

If you go the rat terrier method, remember to praise him/her when a rat has
been "neutralized."
