When I read the above sentence I really didn't know if you knew who was referenced as Lewis. One doesn't refer to Meriweather Lewis as "A guy named..." That's like saying that the first President of the United States was George Somethingorother.

Kitty, I believe it was named after Lewis as in Lewis and Clark. Meriweather Lewis.
