Yes, in Indiana there is a loophole.  Drivers of vehicles with truck plates
do not have to wear a seat belt.  SUVs are allowed to choose between car and
truck plates.  A truck plate is $9 more.  I had decided I could no longer
afford the vanity car plate I'd had for years (GUELPH),  but that meant that
now I could get a truck plate.  It saved me a $25 fine a couple of weeks
ago.
