I absolutely love Salvia guaranitica 'Black and Blue'. Pineapple sage, S.
elegant, has beautiful bright red flowers on elegant, tall plants in the
late summer( and its leaves have a great fragrance). Salvia argentea, Silver
sage, has huge hairy silver leaves that are gorgeous! I use some of the
newer colored bedding sages in containers to compliment unusual annuals. The
'Salsa' series are interesting colors. Salvia X superba 'Snow Hill' is
growing in my white border. I haven't been fond of S. verticillata 'Purple
Rain' as it flops. I've been meaning to move it to a hot, dry spot for
years.
