Not really contrary Gene. Dan's a big boy, he should have suspected - we did when it first sold, remember? Yes, he is to blame to a degree, but it was also his choice to make.

Doesn't make it any less of a shame though.

Dan *did* sell out to another company. He did not have to do that. A personal choice was made. Same with the other small companies mentioned in this thread. While it is popular to down "big business" everyone involved made decisions to be where they are now.It isn't as if Mr. Hinkley came away with nothing.
Change is a constant in all businesses..... It will be interesting to see where the Herronswood aspect ends up.. hopefully, we plans people will benefit... if not then another nursery name went by the wayside (no pun intended)

It happened too with Daffodil Mart. WFF bought them out, ran it for awhile and dumped it. But Brent and Becky came back strong after their noncompete time was up. Hinckley hinted in one article that he might do the same but in the other write-up he said he had no intention to do so.
