Re: Autumn Fern Q

I'll drag the 'Guacamole' pot over to the fern and see how it looks. I had hopes that it would look good next to H.seiboldiana 'Elegans' but no go. It looks sort of ok with 'Robert Frost', but that's one Hosta that just does not turn me on, so I'm dividing and selling it.

I've not grown 'Samabor'. Geraniums have a tough time here, though 'Alpenglow' and 'Roxanne' are hanging in.

I'm not familiar with 'Moongate' Maple. What does it look like?

Hello Daryl,
Up in our garden we have a combinations of autumn ferns, Japanese moongate maple, hardy geranium Samabor (several), Hosta Guacamole... and other "stuff". But hose are the original planting combinations.

What goes with Autumn Fern? It's a good, tough plant, and I'd like to use it more, but the color is pretty brash, and of course it's pretty big.

One of my friends says it looked good with her Pieris this spring, but that was only for a short while.
