This is all sounding like an attack from the little one's point of view. Quickness is important, but so is calmness. If you can already have a towel draped over your arm as you quietly sit and play the paw game, you may be able to scoop him up with the towel in place. But if you come from above with a towel, yes he'll freak before you barely make a move.

How? I'm sure he'd freak if I put it over him. Or do you mean wrap my arms in a towel so that the claws can't cut through? The little guy has tiny, needle sharp teeth and toenails.

Use a towel.[Original Message] From: Daryl <pulis@mindspring.com> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Date: 6/4/2006 2:14:03 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] Kitten Barb, I don't even know how to pick it up without being clawed to death. I normally cradle a dog with my forearm between its front legs and the hindquarters tucked in the crook of my other arm. Somehow I think thatwouldleave me looking like a Venetian Blind. We've got a small crate ready. The big crate is still outside since wedon'thave a lot of space. d--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
