Re: Walking iris
How about late September? Offsets should have some roots by then.

Yeah- we are sort of borderline zone 8-9- just depends on the year.
If you think an offset would make it here at this time of year
(mailing in the heat of summer). I'd love one. Or for that matter I'd
love one later in fall if that seems more realistic!
Thanks,
Theresa
P.S. Your tomatoes are ripe- I've been eating them all week!

Dunno. Dave's database says zone 9a up. Is EG in zone 9a or higher?
If you want to try, I can send you an offset.

My african iris (which came from your seed Jim) is up, but no
visible bloom spike yet- it's still early though for us here. If
you can post a picture of your walking iris I'd love to see it!

The walking iris [Neomaricas longifolia], which bloomed a month
or so ago, is blooming again, just as the last bloom spike, now
burdened with offsets, is bending to the ground. I think I need
to take this plant out of its pot and plant it in the ground.
Maybe later this week. I've also some African iris [Dietes
iridiodes], which I "temporarily" potted up a few years ago, that
I'd like to get back in the ground. Maybe I need to think iris on
Wednesday or Thursday.
