Re: More Weather

My guess is the water wars are going to get pretty intense in that southwestern corner of the country before long. They've been in a state of denial there for as long as I can remember... maybe as long as anyone can remember. Time to watch "Chinatown" again, and this time pay attention to the politics of water it portrays somewhat circumspectly.

My water company isn't rationing, but their deliveries did get cut and
they had to buy water at a very high rate to make up the difference. So we have tiered pricing now, if you use over a certain amount, you'll get hit with a really big bill. It's why I cut back all the garden watering.

I seen a story that they are going to start rationing water in Calif....
hopefully not in your area.

Here it is mid-eighties, going to stay that way all week, but still
windy...although we've improved some, now the wind is only 25mph instead
of 35.
Cherries are ripening at the u-pick places and I'll be getting myself a big bag o' Bings next weekend. I am going to make cherry-raspberry jam,
maybe something else if I get inspired.

You and me both Zem. Rain, I can deal with - most of the time. But the
winds, hail and tornados in our state are getting old. What limbs
DIDN'T fall
during that winter ice storm, fell yesterday morning when we had strong
winds
and heavy rainfall. We are going to go from winter, nothing but rain
and
storms, to the dog days of summer. The humidity here is HORRIBLE and my
poor
llamas are suffering. We can't sheer them until they dry out some...and
they
can't dry OUT until we have a few days of no rain and thunderstorms.
DOH!!!!!

Weatherbug just piped up to let me know we are
under yet another severe
thunderstorm watch until 10:00 p.m. This includes
the possibility of 70 mph
winds and 2.5" hail. I am so sick of being stuck in
our current weather
cycle. I don't mind that we are ahead of our normal rain
fall, but I could
surely do without the storms.
