RE: [Fwd: new pergola/arbor]

Nope, I know what a locust looks like. But this might be an acacia, not
a mesquite, now that I think about it.

correction...I think most people call them "honey locust" trees. The
spikes
and thorns can get to 8 inches long. Fearsome looking.

I have a dead
branch off a mesquite tree in a vase on my windowsill.
Well, I think it's a
mesquite anyway, but the thorns on this one are
almost six inches long, it's
unlike every other mesquite here. I pass
the tree on my walk to the other
building often so I grabbed this when I
found it. The branch is very
formidable looking.

EXACTLY...and I have a little
shelf of "treasures" at my desk...things
that I
find. A rock, a piece of
driftwood, seeds from downstairs, dried
flowers, in
the fall-a colorful leaf.
I have a whole JAR full of different
feathers.
People ask me "why?" and I say
"why not? It's free art, made by
nature".

I know
that experience. Gathering seeds can
get you strange looks...
like you're not
quite right.
