Re: OT - impromptu gas price survey

I saw it was 4.18 most places, but 4.12 at Meijer and they take it down to 4.02 if you use their MC. My sister uses only Marathon gas, where they discount the gas when you use their credit card. Friends of mine tell me that they first go in and, using a Marathon card, buy a discounted gift card. Then they turn around and use it for gas. Somehow they get credited the discount for the gas purchase with the gift card so they end up with a double discount. Not sure how that would work.
