Jim,
I get first class packages very quickly - usually the second day. Priority,
however, is almost always 3 days. Go figure.

Everyone--myself included--has horror stories about USPS's service. So
when they do something right, it's worth noting.
I bought a DVD from a guy in New York City on June 9. He mailed it first
class [$2.53] to me that same day. I got it in this morning's mail. I
still can't quite believe it.
