Hey, Jim! Less gardening for me to! Somewhere some how old age crept in. 
I tore a tendon in my ankle in 2013, wore a boot for 4 months but wouldn't heal so then went to a permanent brace (Arizona brace). That was bad and so limiting I finally decided to let then perform a Arthrodesis (triple fusion) which has a recovery of 12-18 months. I had that done in 2014 so it is as good as its going to be. My balance is horrible, I can't develope any speed when walking and now I need the knee replaced on that same leg so we just sold our home/garden and built a villa. 
We sold our home quickly which surprised us as we thought the garden would be a big negative. Either they didn't have a clue or are big time gardeners. Our third time to build a home and we must have been lucky the first two times.
 I did work in the greenhouse again this year but if I didn't love it so I wouldn't continue as I was really dragging at the end of the 9 hr days on cement. I do have vegetable gardens at my youngest granddaughters and we rent land nearer to our home for another. I have lots of containers here at home but the wind is always so fierce I'm not sure I can have any sucess. Maybe it will be better once we have some homes to the north and west of us. Now we have nothing to break the wind. I have Cannas in a container and as the leaves unfurl the wind whips them off.
What do you do to keep busy? You have such vast plant knowledge you certainly need to share it.
After we once get settled I plan to spend my time quilting but till then I need to get my window coverings made, wall hangings hung and boxes emptied.

Agree - not a "good" bug. Would urge urge  judicious use of pesticides, as they do not discriminate between  good guys and bad!
