We do have some butterflies here, but still waiting for the flock of them that show up to feed on The lantana. Our mockingbird family is doing well, fledglings are big enough to fend for themselves, but still peeping for parents to feed them.  Today went o a little hike and saw a downy woodpecker family. Babies were so cute!

I always try to plant dill in a pot on my deck for the black swallowtails to lay their eggs, but the evil squirrels keep digging looking for the nuts that they imagine they buried. Just replanted the seeds. So far, they have not disturbed the pot near by planted with basil. Go figure.  I like herbs on my deck so I can easily harvest for culinary purposes.

The weather is fantastic, 68°F, blue skies and a light breeze. Just planted a bed of 7 different Baptisias with several other lower plants between them as it’s going to take several years for the Bs to establish. Took me longer than I thought, but then everything seems to take longer to accomplish these days.

 

So, anything you’d care to share?
