Pam, I have a nice small blue hosta called 'Blue Cadet'. But it was new to me 
last year so I can't vouch for it's reliability long term. Also I have used 
crushed egg shells (in a holding area) around pots of hostas to keep away 
slugs. Not too attractive but seems to work. You could dye them by dumping 
them in a bucket of manure tea! Kathyz5
