Re: bombax in bloom and the link is here

it's from southeast asia, david, and a relative of the kapok clan [i think]. don't remember what the leaves look like, and i should. a funky local orange grove near here has several of them planted, including this one. most of them are younger and not as interesting. i'll try to go back in late spring and get a foliage shot. and a trunk shot--the trunk is forbiddingly thorny.
