Your story reminds me when we had one of our first computers, an 80286.
My cat decided it looked like a nice CAT BOX! Urinated all over the
keyboard. I suppose she was trying to tell me something. Anyway, we
cleaned it up, took it to the nice folks who sold it to us and gave them
our dumbest look and said we had no idea why it didn't work. Somehow
that cat lived for another 10 years after that. Must have been divine
intervention. My wife was divine when she stopped me from throwing the
cat out the second story window.
