Re: Persian Shield Flower

Just dawned on me [duh], Kitty, the flower spike is a dead ringer for the coleus flower spike. I guess that's why it was familiar. Coleus, incidentally, produce elongated football shaped seed pods that are maybe a half inch long.

Well, I had planned to cut the flowers off, but I'll keep some just for you
so we can find out. Since they are so easy from cuttings, I would never
think to start them from seed.

For some reason, Kitty, that's about what I thought it would look like.
If it sets seed, let us know.

Persian Shield Flower
Hi friends - I know that Persian Shield is not grown for its flowers
but
was always curious as to what they looked like - couldn't find a
pic
on the web. Well, today one of my cuttings flowered. I thought you
might
like to see it. Not really clear pictures but good enogh to see the
blue
(with some white) tubular 1 x .75 inch flowers. there are 2 photos.
