Re: now speaking of fertilizers - Are we ready?

Kitty,
I looked at the bag and it says at 70 degrees 3 to 4 months. At 60, 4 to 5 months, and as the temps go up, 80, 2 to 3, and 90, 1 to 2.
I'd rather under than over fertilize. So I do it once a year, if that. I add compost and leaf mulch also.

Is your balanced 14 Osmocote a 3-4 month feed or longer?

Donna,
I have a huge bag of 14-14-14 Osmocote. I find it practical, since I only fertilize once a year. I use it on most plants, except the acid loving ones, they get hollytone.

My entire yard need a jump start this spring with some
fertilizers. Of course everything needs something
different and well, I am lazy, especially since
everything needs something and quick.

Was thinking about giving everything a shot of a
standard fertilizer right after Rich's snow goes away.
It would give me the time to do a few things then
determine what everything needs specifically this
year.

So any recommendations? Would I do more harm this way?

Donna
