I'm one of the oddballs that doesn't much care for Lavender, either, though I enjoyed being in the Lavender fields near you a few years ago for the GWA symposium.

Me too, Daryl. I never did care for the smell of petunias. But since all the women in my life seem to like it, I thought maybe it was a gender thing. :)

Wow...isn't strange how things stick with you forever? Certain smells

Do you have a state Market Bulletin? If not, check out Georgia's (quick, before they shut it down). There are usually ads for old-timey Petunias and

I absolutely can't stand Petunia smell, but that's because when I was 5, my
mother lost half her foot to a lawn mower accident, so deadheading her
Petunias became my responsibility. The stink and the stickiness and the heat
were something that I've never been able to overcome. I forgave 'Purple
Wave' because it cleans itself, but it's still pretty stinko to me.

Can anybody recommend an old fashioned, heirloom petunia? And where to
find them or the seeds? I love the smell of them, but they all seem
to be hybrids now and that takes away some of the scent. I love the
LOOK of the "wave" petunias, and have grown them, but they can't beat
the original fragrance.
