Me too, Daryl. I never did care for the smell of petunias. But since all the women in my life seem to like it, I thought maybe it was a gender thing. :)

Wow...isn't strange how things stick with you forever? Certain smells make me sick too, Wintergreen and Spearmint do that to me. There are usually ads for old-timey Petunias andother plants. http://www.agr.state.ga.us/mbads/I absolutely can't stand Petunia smell, but that's because when I was 5, my mother lost half her foot to a lawn mower accident, so deadheading her Petunias became my responsibility. The stink and the stickiness and the heat were something that I've never been able to overcome. I forgave 'PurpleWave' because it cleans itself, but it's still pretty stinko to me. d----- Original Message ----- From: "Jesse Bell" <justjess01@gmail.com>To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2010 2:49 PM Subject: [CHAT] PetuniasCan anybody recommend an old fashioned, heirloom petunia? And where tofind them or the seeds? I love the smell of them, but they all seem to be hybrids now and that takes away some of the scent. I love theLOOK of the "wave" petunias, and have grown them, but they can't beatthe original fragrance. -- Jesse R.
