Theresa,

My sympathies as well.  My present two cats are fairly young, so I hope
that we'll go through our golden years together.  I think that I'll
always want to have a cat!

with 
kidney problems and am giving her subcutaneous hydration twice weekly.
Also 
have one with a slow growing cancer.  He's on interferon.  I'm lucky I
