Re: Plant disaster/ups versus usps
Well, all I did was use Your zip code and Sally Ann's zip code to calculate
shipping at both UPS and USPS websites on a 20# package. I didn't include
any extra charges like delivery confirmation (USPS charges extra for
everything.)
On a 10# package, same details, UPS 3day select is $32.01, while ground is
$16.85 - so, yeah, that's double.
Via Post Office 10# would be Priority Mail - 3 days: $19.20, Overnight:
$37.50
I think you can also arrange with the Post Office to pick up your packages.
I know you can do this with Ebay sales, so they must offer it to others,
too. Anyway, if the choice is between UPS - 7days $16.85 and USPS -3 days
$19.20. I would pay the extra $2.35. $2.80 if you include delivery
confirmation.
Really, David, it's a racket. These folks have you between a rock and a
hard place. If you don't like it, they don't care.
